The purpose of the Treasure Coast Cancer Initiative is to promote community awareness regarding new advances, treatments and technologies related to cancer and cancer care through education and community outreach programs.

Our organization was established in 2012 under the guidance of local medical doctors and medical professionals. TCCI will present a series of community based seminars that will be held throughout the year. These are FREE and open to the public.

It is our hope that these seminars will help give the community the information they need to make their own informed lifestyle choices about cancer prevention and screening.
Our focus is ~ Cancer Prevention.

Mission

Several local physicians and health care professionals have recently made the conscious effort to demonstrate their commitment not only to the Hippocratic Oath, but to put into action two parts of the modern translation; “I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.” Moreover, TCCI is founded on the belief that, “I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm”
(Tyson, P., NOVA online, March 2001).

Hence, under the guidance of Angie Swenson, and Dr. Sunil Gandhi, MD; there is an exciting new group of dedicated physicians that have formed TCCI. The focus of TCCI’s mission is community outreach and education combined with physician resources and information.
